in Haiti, Dominican Republic and other Developing Countries

Objectives

bulletTo raise awareness and understanding in our communities of the situation in Haiti, Dominican Republic and other Developing countries

bulletTo foster lasting improvements in the quality of life in Haiti, Dominican Republic and other Developing countries

Guiding Principles

  1. The personal safety both physical and psychological of all trip participants is priority #1
  2. While guided by Christian beliefs we respect and honour the culture and traditions of our host communities.
  3. We encourage, facilitate and promote sustainable grass-roots development within all the communities we serve.
  4. We seek and work in partnership with likeminded organizations for mutual benefit.
  5. We do not actively seek growth; opportunities presented are evaluated primarily on contribution to our objectives and volunteer capacity. The quality of activities is valued more than quantity.
  6. We seek to maximize our contribution through volunteers, home offices and appropriate use of communication technology. Paid services are only sought to satisfy special needs.
  7. Our primary means of fundraising is by story telling rather than through direct fundraising events and activities.
